1. Services We Provide
Cascade Senior Living Advisors assists seniors, vulnerable adults, and their families in identifying supportive housing and care options that may meet the client's individual needs.
We assess your needs and preferences, identify assisted living, memory care, adult family homes, and other appropriate care providers, communicate with providers, arrange introductions and tours, and support you and your family throughout the senior living selection process.
A referral does not constitute a guarantee or warranty regarding the quality, availability, suitability, licensing status, or future performance of any provider.
2. How Cascade Senior Living Advisors Is Compensated
Cascade Senior Living Advisors does not charge the client a fee for senior living placement referral services.
Cascade Senior Living Advisors may receive a referral fee from a supportive housing or care provider when a client referred by Cascade becomes a resident or begins receiving services from that provider.
The referral fee is generally calculated as:
A percentage of the resident's first month's base rent, a fixed referral fee, or another contractual formula.
Payment is generally made by the provider after the client's admission or the commencement of services, in accordance with Cascade Senior Living Advisors' agreement with that provider.
Upon the client's request, Cascade Senior Living Advisors will disclose the referral fee amount it expects to receive from a provider.
Washington law specifically requires disclosure of the method used to compute a provider-paid fee and the time and method of payment; if the client requests it, the agency must disclose the amount it will receive.
3. We Work With Both the Client and Providers
Cascade Senior Living Advisors works with the client and with supportive housing and/or care providers as part of the same referral transaction.
To assist with placement, Cascade may need to obtain or disclose confidential health care information about the client. Client authorization will be obtained when required before confidential health care information is obtained or disclosed.
4. Client Rights
Cascade Senior Living Advisors will not require or request that the client waive potential liability for loss of personal property or injury, or waive rights provided under state or federal law.
The client may stop using Cascade Senior Living Advisors or switch to another referral agency at any time, without cause, penalty, or cancellation fee.
These protections are expressly required by RCW 18.330.050.
5. Provider Tours
Cascade Senior Living Advisors generally tours or visits senior living and care providers on an ongoing basis, with providers generally visited at least annually when practicable. At the time a referral is made, Cascade Senior Living Advisors will inform the client in writing or electronically whether Cascade has toured the referred supportive housing provider and, if so, the date of the most recent tour.
6. Provider Licensing and Enforcement Information
Before referring a supportive housing provider, Cascade Senior Living Advisors conducts the required search of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services information to determine whether the provider is in enforcement status for violations of licensing regulations.
When applicable, information obtained through the required search will be disclosed to the client in writing. Washington requires that the search be considered timely if performed within 30 days before the referral.
7. Refund Policy
Cascade Senior Living Advisors does not charge the client a placement referral fee.
When Cascade receives a referral fee from a supportive housing provider and the vulnerable adult dies, is hospitalized, or transfers to another supportive housing setting for more appropriate care within the first 30 days of admission, Cascade will comply with the refund requirements of RCW 18.330.090.
Washington law requires that the applicable referral fee be refunded on a per-day, prorated basis to the person or provider who paid the fee.
